Love Louder!

Do you ever feel like sometimes you don’t love yourself to your maximum potential? Well, I know I do.  I go through some ups and some downs.  However, sometimes when I am experiencing my downs, I allow it to get me down.  I have been working through my depression for about 2 years now.  When I made the transition to the East Coast, I was still doing things to stay focused and balanced.  However, once I started working, it sort of distracted my purpose.  What is my purpose? Well I know right now, my purpose is to live a peaceful human experience.  I want to work to find balance in my life.  One thing I know is that I cannot run from the “down” moments.  I have to find the strength and endurance inside of myself to properly handle those moments.  I have recommitted myself to focus on my overall health and well-being.  To reconnect myself to my spirit.  To lead with love. To judge less. To appreciate all walks of life; however, m...

Basic Brown: My Life and Our Times Willie Brown

"My guiding principle was to place myself in a position of power so that I could help people with good ideas see those ideas realized" I just finished the memoir of Mayor Willie Brown.  Since I was young, I was always fascinated by Mayor Willie Brown.  He was a powerful, swaggy, Black politician in San Francisco.  And, even as a young girl, I always had a strong attraction towards older men.  LOL...Mayor Willie Brown was high on that list. That's how I knew him, as Mayor Willie Brown of San Francisco.  It was not until I interned at the state capitol that I learned that Mayor Willie Brown was also the Speaker of the House.  That's like a big deal! My first time I actually had the chance to meet Willie Brown was as an intern in Assembly member Sandre Swanson office.  SIDE NOTE: It wasn't until I worked at the capitol that I was infatuated with "famous" people.  I never really showed much enthusiasm with seeing your average celebrity.  Howeve...

Music the Universal Language

So I recently got put on game on Spotify (why I had not known about this site a long time ago, I'm not sure).  Well anyways it is great! However, I have now used up all the free music that I can listen too, but I am strongly considering buying the membership. While I was enjoying my free session on Spotify, I was able to listen to music that I hadn't heard in a while.  So I decided to share RAVEN'S BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME (well those that I can remember).  When I say BEST ALBUM, I am referring to albums in which I can listen to the entire album.  So here they are, in no particular order: Mariah Carey- Emancipation of MiMi (well this is my favorite artist, so maybe that's why she's first lol) Lil Wayne- Carter (the 1st one) Missy Elliott- Under Construction Mac Dre- Dreganomics Raquel Saadiq- Instant Vintage Janet Jackson- Velvet Rope Michael Jackson- Invincible J-Stalin- Prenuptial Agreement Lucy Pearl- Lucy Pearl Lauryn Hill- Miseducation of Lauryn Hil...
